🌳🐦🐦They had wings..
Two years ago a young couple came to stay in front of our house. He was tall and muscular. Must be forty. He used to work in the army. His wife was slim and handsome. She was working in a library.
We got to know new neighbors. Both felt very free. was well educated. A lot of experience was gained from traveling around the world on behalf of the Army. They moved into the front house and we got absorbed in our work.
One day she was standing in the yard. A beautiful parrot was seen sitting on her shoulder. It was emerald green in colour, with a fine velvety soft body, pale parrot underside and orange throat. A green paithani(Saari) should have an orange edge! Look look eyes and a cream colored beak. A work of art made by God in "Furasat Se"(Take a Time). His wings were shining in the morning sun. Seeing that color combination, those velvety wings and the delicate flapping of the wings made my heart happy.
However, she did not know how he was sitting on her shoulders like a sage. In between, he flew off her shoulder and came round in a small circle and sat back like a sage on the hand she held out. The screams he was screaming while flying sounded like cries to me. "See that one day will fly by." I said. "He will not go even if he wants to go." she said “Why? Because you have a fight?” I said smiling. “He is fighting but his wings are clipped so he cannot fly very high. He can't go any higher than he is now." she said "Who clipped his wings and why?" I asked a little annoyed. Have you ever heard of Wing Clipping? For the safety of the birds, their wings are trimmed slightly.
If they fly too high, they can be injured by hitting the glass of a tall building. Sometimes they also hit the fan. After Wing Clipping, they can fly but cannot go very high. Wing Clipping of many parties is always done. Doesn't hurt at all. There is no problem for them. Then it becomes easy to train them.
I could not bear her speech. "Better to die flying in nature than to live with clipped wings." I said. She didn't like it. She curled up and went in. The natural religion of the party is to fly. Who gave man the right to impose such rules on his natural inclination to roam the blue skies? Why clip their wings? My heart was groaning.
I realized then that the constant flapping of the wing was an attempt to fly. But that wing had no power because part of it was constantly cut off. His birthright to fly as high as he could was taken away by man for his own selfishness. I couldn't bear to think and left the house. Don't know what to do. Over the next few days I did a lot of reading on Wing Clipping. Called some organization. Talked to people from Animal Rights. Talked to a vet. But there are no satisfactory answers as to what can be done to stop this.
This is common everywhere in the world. Birds' wings are clipped from childhood. They need to be cut back every three months as they grow. It is like people cut their hair. Removing cats' claws where the nails are is painful but not painful, so it's been argued that it's much better. It was gut wrenching to hear that it is not cruel at all like removing the vocal cords of dogs to stop them barking. It was found that due to cutting the wings, the parties suffer psychologically. Wings were flying, in Hindi (tujhe dil ka daag dikhlati..) I never thought I would remember this occasion. The mind became depressed.
It is written in the law that dumb animals should not be harmed. Millions of birds and animals around the world are constantly falling prey to human cruelty. Why do you have to make a law to say don't do this cruelty? Even if there is a law, who will see whether it is followed or not? Where will these dumb animals go to file a complaint? It would have been better if God had not made them beautiful. At least it would not have been in human hands. I felt regret that the humanity in man was over.
Every living being is created to maintain the balance of nature, Due to the violation of the laws of nature, our fate was judged in the court of nature. People do not learn even after losing millions of lives. It is not known how much benefit it will be.
But I will keep trying. I am taking this article as the first step to tell people about this cruelty. We can protest wherever this cruelty is seen. Can tell people four things. Whether they understand or not. Somewhere I remembered the beautiful painting drawn by Mr. Kamat I remembered
Valmiki saying "You will never be happy..Ma Nishad." Our happiness depends on the happiness of other beings, their goodwill.
Disturbing the balance of nature for our petty selfishness will not bring happiness. Let us keep praying that the light of humanity will continue to shine in every heart.
That's all we have in our hands right now.
